APU Dynamics Optimizer
APU Dynamics Optimizer 5.7.6 for MacOffline loudness surgery for a finished recording: the Mac app maps the whole file’s dynamics, then compresses and expands so the result matches a distribution you choose before export.
Open, target, optimize, audition
Drag a recording onto the window or browse to open it. The app builds a source loudness histogram; you set which percentiles to treat as the working range (defaults follow LRA-style extremes) and pick a target shape – uniform, normal with skew, a scaled copy of the source, or a second reference file. Run optimize, then audition with play controls while you refine attack and release and the optional look-ahead Peak or True Peak limiter.
Compare sections with the seek slider before you commit. When the result sounds right, export writes a new 32-bit float WAV at the original sample rate. That format can hold samples above 0 dBFS, so you still need downstream peak control before fixed-point delivery or clipping playback paths. Processing stays offline against the open file; this is not a real-time DAW insert.
