Timed tests, row-by-row lessons, and a ghost of your last run give you a concrete way to raise words per minute on the keyboard already on the desk.
One test, then the keys that actually fail
Start a speed test and pick a clock or a word count. The passage sits in a typeface you can change-size, line spacing, letter spacing, alignment-and every character is marked correct, wrong, or missed. At the end you see net and gross words per minute, accuracy, consistency, and a graph of how speed moved through that sitting. Lessons walk the home row, the rows above and below, symbols, and numbers, and each lesson stores accuracy, WPM, and a high score. When the same letter pairs keep breaking, the n-gram lab builds a short drill from those sequences. Expansion drills are free; Targeted and Smart Mix strategies require Pro.
A keymap and hand guide show the next key and which finger should press it. Switch and typewriter sounds are optional. If the built-in lists feel random, paste a quote or import text from a page URL; unlimited custom text is part of Pro. Stats can sync with iCloud to an iPhone or iPad on the same Apple ID.
Practice against a recording
In version 5.2.0, after a run you can watch the keystrokes play back, keep the file in a library that no longer requires a purchase, and later type beside that ghost in a timed or word-count test. The same text can drive a CPU opponent, or a compatible file can become a Ghost Race. Beat the old time and you store a new attempt or replace the original. Free practice and racing stop at 45 seconds or 75 words; longer files, and exporting one to share, need Pro. A friend’s recording can be imported and raced when the format matches. The ghost cursor can be restyled or hidden. Live matches are separate: sixty seconds of En for two to four people, via friends or automatch, with Game Center achievements, and they need a network.
Price, system floor, and what the Mac build leaves out
The Mac App Store lists the download as free and Pro Access at $8.99, a one-time Lifetime Pro unlock rather than a subscription. The store describes that purchase as extra challenges, stats, themes, and unlimited custom text. Family Sharing may cover the in-app purchase. Installation needs macOS 14.5 or later. Privacy labels on the store say no data is collected. Passage generation and AI typing insights are listed as requiring iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, so the store page does not offer them as Mac features. The age rating is 13+ under the Indonesia Game Rating System. A browser speed test is enough for a single WPM number; this app fits when you want lessons, weak-pair drills, and a ghost of your own last run.
