Capture a Dock, name it, switch back later
DockFlow works with the native macOS Dock instead of drawing a replacement bar on screen. Create a preset by arranging the apps, folders, files, and spacers you want visible, then choose Set from Current Dock or build the list inside the app. Each preset stores its own layout, and switching restores that configuration while optionally closing apps you no longer need and launching the ones tied to the preset. Spacers help you group related tools visually, and you can add web links or documents alongside applications when a workflow needs quick file access.
Hotkeys, Shortcuts, and Focus-driven switches
Once presets exist, pick them from the menu bar dropdown or assign single-key, sequence, or multi-press hotkeys so you never hunt the Dock during a context change. Apple Shortcuts integration lets you trigger the same switches from automations-useful when a calendar block or script should load a meeting Dock versus a development Dock. macOS Focus modes can link to presets so activating Work or Personal focus loads the matching layout without an extra click.
Lock Dock, app actions, and ExtraDock pairing
On multi-monitor desks, Lock Dock anchors the system Dock to the display you choose so it stops jumping when the pointer hits another screen edge; enabling that feature requires Accessibility permission. App actions go further than icon placement: presets can open an IDE with a specific project or launch a browser profile in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, or Arc. If you also run Appit Studio’s ExtraDock companion, DockFlow can hide and show those secondary docks per preset so each workflow keeps its own dock stack on every display.
Buy from the vendor site, not the App Store
DockFlow is sold from the vendor site with either a one-year license or lifetime plans for one to five Macs, plus a 30-day refund window; there is no Mac App Store listing. It requires macOS 13.5 Ventura or later and updates through Sparkle. macOS itself keeps one manual Dock layout, so the app fits people who context-switch daily; users who never rearrange icons may be fine with the free built-in Dock. The vendor Sparkle channel currently distributes build 1.76 for supported Macs.
