The antenna system and sensors for these devices must be light, cheap, and able to maintain high levels of device performance in any environment. In such a framework, the use of microwave antennas with fully adaptive properties is mandatory for dramatically improving the performances of monitoring systems. Such devices are commonly used in several fields of application, such as environmental and structural engineering monitoring, precision agriculture, pollution monitoring, and other practical and interesting applications.
