PasteNow

Copied text, links, images, and code remain searchable after macOS overwrites the system pasteboard.
Open the panel at the pointer
The everyday path is a shortcut, not a return to the window you copied from. The panel can open next to the pointer, accept a search, and paste the chosen clip at the insertion point in the frontmost app. Another shortcut pastes the newest clip as plain text, which drops web or Pages formatting without opening the window. When a query is the wrong tool, the main window shows the same history for browsing.
Items are not stuck in one chronological pile. You file them into lists, drag to reorder items in an ordinary list, and define Smart Lists that gather clips matching conditions you set. Three display styles change how text, links, and images read in those lists. Space previews the original content; a right-click opens an edit so a snippet can be corrected before the next paste. Drag a clip into another app when paste is awkward, for example an image onto a slide or a design canvas.
Lists and what stays out
Exclusion rules drop copies from chosen apps, or from other rules you configure, so a password manager does not have to share a history with code and link clips. Text you want to keep on purpose can be created as a clip inside the app, then stored on a list and pasted later with the same shortcuts. That is closer to a personal shelf of snippets than to a text expander that fires on abbreviations.
iCloud, the trial, and macOS 15
Lists and history can sync between Mac, iPhone, and iPad through the signed-in iCloud account. The privacy policy says clipboard contents stay in iCloud under your Apple ID and are not read by the developer; anonymous usage statistics and crash logs may still be collected. A second device only receives clips when iCloud is available. Capture on iPhone, which needs iOS 18 or later, is narrower than on the Mac, because iOS limits background clipboard access, so the phone side depends on opening the app or using its keyboard extension.
The download is free. The vendor site offers a trial of up to 14 days, then a license that can be activated on as many as five devices for one person. The Mac App Store lists PasteNow Pro at $7.99 as a one-time in-app purchase, alongside a $0 trial product, and some purchases may be eligible for Family Sharing. Version 2.34 adds Remove History Items, which clears old history automatically and keeps that setting in sync with the Mac through iCloud, and a Pasteboard Viewer in Settings that shows every data type on the current clipboard. The build requires macOS 15 or later.
